My name is Karolina, I am a university student interested in travel and in particular how students can make the most of discovering new cultures. Travel is a passion of mine, as I believe learning about other cultures is critical to our core morals, specifically respecting others. It is a way to escape reality while also appreciating our home and where we grew up.
Greece, 2017 – A highlight of my travels where I explored a culture very different to my own in Australia. The landscape and architecture drew me in, with the white buildings reflecting the natural sunlight.
My country of specialisation is Belgium. I have chosen this region for its rich history and natural beauty. This blog is dedicated to exploring the history of Belgium, its modern street art and its core involvement in environmental conservation.
Hallerbos Blue Forest, Belgium – A region which shows the natural beauty of Belgium.
“Thus travel spins us round in two ways at once: It shows us the sights and values and issues that we might ordinarily ignore … traveling to a truly foreign place, we inevitably travel to moods and states of mind and hidden inward passages that we’d otherwise seldom have cause to visit.” – Pico lyer. I agree with this quote as it shows how we can learn new and unexpected things when travelling. One can have the opportunity to experience a new place and lose themselves in adventure. This is a way to not only look deeper into another culture, but also to look deeper into ourselves and appreciate what he have.
